KBD completely gutted my kitchen and the results are fabulous! Dawn and Jon made the perfect team for this project. I have high expectations from everyone in my life and they met them at every crossroad! They both are very calm and thoughtful with measurements and troubleshooting. Everything ran smoothly and even when I couldn't make decisions in a timely manner, their patience was appreciated!!! Both paid attention to every detail, helped make the most out of every inch of space, literally! I have a very small pullman kitchen and just by shortening a window my counter space was increased by 8 feet!!! A detail no other company offered as a solution. In addition, everyone they work with from the electrician to the plumber were all just awesome: polite and friendly! I was very involved every step of the way and I think that's so important for every homeowner: do your research! Have pictures of designs you like, it helps the professionals understand your needs and style. Kitchens by Design has done two projects for us. They did a complete kitchen remodel in 2008 and a complete remodel of our master bath, which included a partial remodel of our main bathroom in 2012. They are extremely professional, offering numerous design options and after having them do our kitchen, we could't consider using anyone else. Both projects were completed within the stated timeframe even when faced with what I would term major structural issues. We also made a few changes during each project and things went seamlessly, even when during the kitchen remodel the new cabinets had to be modified - we could not even tell where the changes were made as the staining was perfectly matched. I highly recommend KBD to anyone in the Twin Cities area considering a remodel. They are just truly very nice people, who we enjoyed working with.Read More

KBD did a complete kitchen remodel that almost included every room on the first floor for us. We took out a wall between the kitchen and dining room, opened a stairway, replaced ceilings, and relocated hot water heat radiators In doing this, we moved the location of the sink, dishwasher, and stove. We had several meetings to get the design and project details fully polished to turn our 1960's kitchen into a modern open space that we love to be in every day. Jon and Kate were able to turn our dreams into a space that is wonderfully functional and beautiful. Their eye for details and high standards of work are testaments to their experience and professionalism. Jon set an aggressive time frame for the work and the changes daily were astonishing. The various crews who came in reflected the high standards and expectations for professionalism that we had hoped for. Kate's creative design ideas are fresh and match our style beautifully. The craftsmanship from the custom built range hood to the hardwood floors, cabinets, stairs, and being able to match 50 year old details with newly built pieces is so beautiful.Read More
